Clarkson is the city’s oldest community, featuring the Rattray Marsh Conservation Area and a blend of housing from single-family to luxury residences. Lakeview is an area undergoing revitalization with significant waterfront developments. Streetsville, known as 'The Village in the City,' maintains a small-town feel with a historic main street, independent shops, and a strong community identity.
The western and northern areas are dominated by family-friendly, modern suburban communities. Churchill Meadows is one of the newer neighbourhoods, designed as a walking community with a mix of single-detached homes and condo townhomes. Lisgar is popular with families seeking newer, affordable homes and features many parks and schools. Meadowvale is an active community with a wide network of parks and trails, including Lake Aquitaine Park, and is home to the Meadowvale Theatre.
